Guys, help me decide! My friends and I want to rent a motorboat or another type of boat near Manchester for the weekend. I heard there’s a cool marina in Boothstown, but I don’t know if it’s worth going there or if it’s just a parking lot for old barges.

I just want a decent place with nice scenery and a place to grab a bite to eat. Apparently, the Bridgewater Canal runs through there. It’s supposedly one of the first canals in Britain. Is that true? Since we’re not pros at steering, we’d like to rent something simple so we don’t crash into the first bridge we come across. Has anyone been there recently who can tell me how the parking and overall service are?

My wife and I actually went to Boothstown Marina last month. It’s near Manchester. I highly recommend it. We were looking for a quiet place, and this marina on the Bridgwater Canal was perfect. It has an interesting history – it used to be an industrial dock. Now, it’s a modern marina with over 150 boat slips. We booked everything through GetBoat, which shows you which boats are available at Boothstown Marina and for how long. The canals there are perfect for beginners because there’s almost no current and strict speed limits. The marina has restrooms and convenient parking, and there are cafés nearby, so you won’t go hungry. If you have time, be sure to go a little further down the canal to the RHS Bridgewater Gardens – the views there are stunning. Are you planning to go with a large group or just a small crew of three to four people? Have you thought about which route to take yet?
