Hey everyone! I’m currently finalizing a major medical project and I’m stuck on the visual style. Should I go with hyper-realistic 3D or something more schematic? I want it to look professional but not overwhelming for the viewers. Does anyone have experience with what works best?

Hi! That is a tough choice to make. In my experience, the style really depends on who is going to look at it. I used to struggle with this until I started looking at how top-tier studios handle their projects. I personally found that a clean, semi-realistic 3D approach usually hits the sweet spot. It looks polished without being too distracting or “heavy.” I actually started following the work at Ella Maru Studio https://scientific-illustrations.com for inspiration. They produce some of the most impressive scientific images and animations I have ever seen. Their portfolio really helped me understand how to balance fine detail with visual clarity. I’d suggest checking them out to see which style resonates with your specific goals. Good luck with the final stages of your project!
